Halloween is apparently a thing that game developers can get behind now, with every major franchise adding in some kind of spooky reference for a day this is filled with candy (I’m not exactly sure though, we don’t celebrate it here in Australia). The latest dev to announce their October plans is Gearbox, announcing the Headhunter series for loot-em-up Borderlands 2. The first installment titled Headhunter 1: TK Baha’s Bloody Harvest will be available on Steam, Mac, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on October 22.
It won’t be the only Headhunter installment however. Each will have the Valult Hunters fighting a “rather unique” boss, and upon defeat, you can steal his head and wear it like a trophy. Yeah, it sounds a little messed up, but in this first installment you steal Pumpkin Kingpin’s Jack-o’-lantern face, and that sounds pretty cool.
The Borderlands 2 Halloween DLC will also include pieces of candy from enemy drops that provide temporary buffs. Would you like some double damage with that raspberry jelly bean?
The DLC will set you back $2.99 and can be completed “in a single sitting”. This could be a good excuse for me to go back and spend some more time with Borderlands 2.
