The Swapper was originally going to be available on PSN next week, but Curve Digital announced yesterday that the PS3, PS4 and Vita ports would be delayed to August 5 in North America and August 6 in Europe.
The developer needs more time to polish the PS3 and Vita ports. Jason Perkins, Curve Digital’s managing director, said: “We’ve been able to really throw the power of the PS4 at the game, but we also want to ensure that when the game comes out, it looks great and runs well at 30 FPS on hardware that, in the case of the PlayStation 3, is over seven years old.”
The Swapper has already seen releases last year on Windows PC, Mac and Linux. Once the ports are finished, the game will be available as a cross-buy title on all three Playstation consoles.
